About the Director
|
Adrienne
Ciavarro-Kellett
Mrs. Adrienne
began her training as a teen in NJ. At the age of sixteen she
began
teaching at a local studio instructing numerous ballet, tap and jazz
classes and realized that teaching was very rewarding. Many of her
students have won regional and national competitions throughout the East
Coast.
Wanting to
better herself and her love of dance sent her to continue her studies
under top professionals, Charles Kelly, Chrystal Chapman, Frank Hatchett
and Madame Darvash. During these years of intensive training, Adrienne
auditioned and became a member of C.A.T.S (Center Arts Teen Showcase)
where she performed on a weekly cable television show. She was also
selected to perform at the PNC Bank Arts Center, then known as the
Garden State Arts Center, as a soloist.
Also at
this time, she was the national title winner in jazz and lyrical dance.

Adrienne
performed professionally as a featured dancer and choreographer of
Johnny James and The Jammers. With this troupe, she performed at the
Daytona Beach Marriot in Florida where she was the opening act for many
top personalities. Adrienne has also appeared on Entertainment Tonight
and has filmed these dance videos as lead dancer. During this time,
Adrienne became a certified DEA (Dance Educators of America) member and
Dance Masters of America Member, passing intensive testing in
kinesiology, jazz, tap, ballet and theatre dance.
In 1990
Adrienne decided to take her knowledge of dance and open up a studio of
her own with the support of her mom and dad. In one year, Dancation
Studio had grown from 60 students to over 200. In 1998 she received a
Best Choreography Award along with Best Costuming and MostFirst Place
Awards Won by a Studio. Again in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007 she has won the
choreography award.
Dancation
studio, under the direction of Mrs. Adrienne, has proved to have given
so many students a solid foundation to continue their dance careers
through colleges like Rutgers, Hofstra, Rowan, and Towson, and some to
an even more professional level with major dance companies. Even after
two children, Adrienne has managed to put her children first, but has
also been able to maintain her well-established business. Dance classes
directed by Mrs. Adrienne have proved time and again to be beneficial to
the pre-school youngster, older adults and most certainly to the career
minded student by combining structure, discipline and fun to all!
