Instructor Bios
|
Kira McSweeney
Ms.
Kira has been dancing since age 4 under the guidance of Director
Adrienne Kellett. She continued her studies at the Broadway
Dance Center in New York City. Ms. Kira has been teaching at
Dancation since 2000 and has taught many children the art of
dancing and shows how much fun everyone can have. Her love of
dance always comes through in her beautiful dances.

Eva Marie Nicholsen
Ms. Eva began her dancing career at the age of 5. When she
became a certified dance instructor, she became a member of the
"Dance Educators of America" organization. Ms. Eva has studied
and taught ballet, pointe, tap, and jazz to all ages. Eva is
currently the head of Dancation's Pre-School program. For
many years, she competed in national and regional competitions
along with taking classes in New York City.

Kristin Swing
Ms.
Kristin received her extensive dance training under the
instruction of the director, Adrienne Kellett. She studied
ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, pointe, and hip-hop and was a member
of Dancation's A+ Performer competition troupe for 10 years. Ms.
Kristin furthered her studies at Broadway Dance Center in New
York City, and intensively studying ballet, modern, anatomy for
dancers, and choreography at Towson University. She is also a
teaching assistant to the director, Adrienne Kellett. Ms.
Kristin completed her degree in Business.

Victoria Martin
Ms. Victoria has
been working professionally as a ballet dancer and instructor
for over 10 years. Her diverse educational background includes
studies at Princeton Ballet, Hamilton Ballet Theatre, American
Ballet Theatre, the Joffrey Ballet, and NJ Ballet, along with
master classes from former members of the New York City Ballet,
the Kirov Ballet, Boston Ballet, and the Bolshoi Ballet. Over
the years some of her students have been accepted to study at
those same schools. In 2004 she produced and choreographed
"Sullen", a dance film set to the music of Fiona Apple.
Currently Ms. Victoria is working on a new dance film, and can
also be seen in the film "School of Rock" with Jack Black.

Phyllip-Mychael Bonds
Phyllip-Mychael Bonds feels equally at home in film on TV,
radio, stage and theme parks, he's been performing since the age
of 17. Locally he has worked as the performance coach for all
outdoor interactive performers for Six Flags Great Adventure and
as the performance arts specialist for the after care program
for the YMCA of Monmouth County where he has worked with more
than 900 students weekly.
Nationally he has
worked with the San Diego Theatre for young audiences and
American Family Theatre mid west and West Coast touring
companies, and internationally with Walt Disney World, Princess
Casino in Freeport Gran Bahamas, and the Dance Theatre of
Harlem. He has also worked with such artists as Max Roch, Jayn
Seymore, Ripp Taylor and Abba.

Miguel Aviles
Miguel Aviles, a professional dancer for 27 years, began his
career teaching ballroom dance at Fred Astaire, Arthur Murray,
Sandra Cameron Dance Center and Paul Pellicoro’s Dance Sports.
He then expanded his career into theatrical dance performance
with several Modern and Ballet companies including
Geoffrey Ballet (Guest Artist), Alberta Ballet, Carol Armitage
Dance, Kathyrn Posin Dance,
Peter Pucci Plus, Lisbon Dance Company, and Rebecca Kelly Dance
Company.
Miguel went on to perform in musical theater including West Side
Story, Oklahoma, Grand Hotel and Peter Pan.
A highlight of his career includes performances in three operas;
Nixon in China choreographed by Mark Morris and composed by John
Adams, Candrillon at the Kennedy Center Opera Company and
Aida at the Houston Grand Opera.
Miguel graduated from
Alvin Ailey
School of Dance. He also trained under master ballet teachers
Gabriella “Madame” Darvash, David Howard and William Berhman as
well as Jazz modern instructor Lynn Simonson.
Miguel recently completed
American Ballet Theater’s National Teacher Training Curriculum.
He has taught company classes while dancing for the companies
above and is currently teaching partnering classes at Doreen’s
School of Dance in Metuchen as well as his new favorite cardio
workout - Zumba!
